The article examines the development of the national testing system in the Republic of Tajikistan in the context of modernizing the assessment system, education, and integration into the international educational space. The institutional structure of the Republic of Tajikistan's assessment system is described, with a key role assigned to the National Testing Center (NTC). Key challenges related to the development of this system are noted. Special attention is paid to the role of the National Testing Center as the central link in assessing the level of knowledge and abilities of schoolchildren and applicants. Tajikistan's participation in the international comparative studies PISA and PIRLS is analyzed. It is shown that the data obtained from national and international assessments are of critical importance. They are used to revise state educational standards, curricula, textbooks, and teacher training programs, as well as to build a national system for monitoring the quality of education. The technological and institutional directions for the further development of the assessment system are described, including the transition to computer-based testing, the creation of a unified national database of results, the application of intelligent data analysis methods, and the training of national experts in the field of testology and psychometrics.
