MODIFICATION OF THE MASTER'S DEGREE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION PROCEDURE IN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN

The article discusses changes and improvements, procedures for conducting entrance exams to master's programs in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Particular attention is paid to electronic testing as a tool for increasing the transparency and objectivity of assessing the knowledge of applicants. Key reforms introduced in recent years are reviewed, including the digitalization of examination processes, updating the content of tests and the introduction of additional control mechanisms. The process of modifying the format of exams in foreign languages since 2004 is analyzed, the results of testing new tests, problems identified and reforms carried out that contributed to improving the quality of the assessment system are described. The introduction of comprehensive testing in 2017 is being considered to increase the objectivity of the selection of candidates, as well as the compliance of the new system with international practices, a comprehensive analysis of the results of entrance exams for master's programs in the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period from 2020 to 2024. Trends in the participation of applicants, changes in the number of students achieving a passing grade, as well as the dynamics of the allocation of educational grants are examined. Particular attention is paid to the impact of these changes on the availability of master's programs for various categories of students, as well as their compliance with international standards. As a result of the study, the main problems and prospects for further improvement of entrance exams to master's programs in Kazakhstan are identified.
